About Teeth Whitening

Your smile is important. It's one of the first things people notice when they meet you, and a brighter, whiter smile can help you feel better about yourself and leave a lasting impression. Unfortunately, a multitude of factors conspire against you to stain your teeth. No matter how often you brush them, coffee, tea, red wine, colas, tobacco and even orange juice will slowly but surely seep into the pores in your enamel and turn your teeth yellow. It's usually very gradual, so you don't notice until the change is quite significant or until someone tells you.

Fortunately for you, science and technology have advanced to the point where you can undo years or even decades of staining in as little as an hour. You can whiten your teeth at home or you can get it done professionally.

Professional Teeth Whitening

This is a cosmetic procedure, that is self-administered while under the watchful eye of a trained professional. The best way to perform a professional teeth whitening treatment is to use a proper whitening agent (that is, a strong, effective whitening gel) and an appropriate whitening accelerator. The safest and most practical accelerator is an LED laser emitting cold blue light with a wavelength of around 465 nanometers. This wavelength of light is ideal for activating the gel and accelerating the whitening process. VividBrite uses a technology that is recognized by the dental industry as the most effective bleaching gel and the most sophisticated bleaching lamp in the industry, thus offering the professional results you are looking for.

The procedure is very simple. Hydrogen peroxide gel is applied to the teeth. A cold blue light is placed directly in front of your exposed teeth and run for 15-20 minutes per treatment. Typically, we perform 2-3 treatments, with 3 giving the best results.

At-Home Whitening

You can always whiten your own teeth at home using a wide range of home whitening products. They are much cheaper than a professional treatment, and they typically give great results. The biggest drawback of most home whitening products is that they usually work gradually, which means that you usually need to use them every day for one to two weeks. Some of them, especially the whitening strips, usually create a lot of tooth sensitivity on most people, so they stop using them and don't really get their money's worth.

If you get a take-home whitening kit make sure that it includes remineralizing/desensitizing gel in order to prevent or alleviate sensitivity. Our Deluxe Home Whitening Kit gives noticeable results after 2 days and amazing results in as little as 5 days, and it's our most popular home whitening product as it includes remineralizing gel and a blue LED light.
