Frequently Asked Questions
This is a list of our most frequently-asked questions. If you have anything else that you would like to ask, please feel free to contact us.
Who should undergo the treatment?
Our treatment provides dramatic results for anyone who wants to whiten their teeth. This includes people with teeth that have been stained by smoking or substances such as coffee or tea. People whose stains are derived from the antibiotic tetracycline or from fluorosis will see little or no improvement, and may require multiple treatments. Dentists usually recommend veneers for these type of stains, however to some people, a little improvement means a lot. The more yellow your teeth are, the easier they are to whiten and the greater the improvement you will obtain.
Who cannot undergo the treatment?
The treatment is not suitable for clients who are pregnant or lactating. The treatment is also contraindicated for children under the age of 14.
How white will my teeth go?
After undergoing whitening with us, teeth shades can brighten up to 14 shades, with an average improvement of five shades on our Spectrum Shade Guide. Although individual results will depend on how discoloured the teeth were originally, the end result will be a brighter, whiter smile.
How long will the whitening last?
This can last up to 2 years, but will vary from person to person and depends on your diet and lifestyle. Periodic touch-up treatments are recommended for clients who frequently consume coffee or other staining foods and drinks or for those that use tobacco products.
How does it work?
We use a ceeck retractor to comfortably expose your teeth, a hydrogen peroxide whitening gel applicator to paint the gel on and a specially designed blue light whitening lamp to accelerate the process giving you immediate results. During the process, you can watch TV or listen to music.
Is it safe?
Yes, scientific research has shown that the active ingredients in our Whitening Gel are effective and safe for cosmetic tooth whitening. The dental community has used these ingredients in performing teeth whitening for years. The Whitening Gel does not change or damage the structure of the teeth; it merely makes them appear white and shiny.
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment consists of three, 20 minute applications of whitening gel and light. The treatment is completed in a single one hour appointment, leaving you with a brighter, whiter smile.
How often can I have the treatment done?
As often as you feel necessary to maintain the results you want. Some of our clients like to whiten about once a month to always keep them looking their whitest; others like to whiten before holidays, pictures, weddings, anniversaries, proms, graduations, reunions, job interviews, meetings, birthdays, hot dates, vacations, and other special occasions. Maintenance is easy and affordable with our $20 for 30 Minutes Maintenance Program.
If I have veneers, bonding, or caps, will this treatment still whiten my teeth?
As with all cosmetic teeth whitening treatments, this treatment is only effective on natural teeth. Veneers, caps or crowns can only ever be taken back to the same colour as the day they were put in. If your dental work is visible when you smile, you should discuss your appropriate recourse for matching these items with your surrounding enamel with your Technician. Your treatment will not damage any existing dental work.
Will my teeth be sensitive during or after the treatment?
Our whitening gel is a very gentle gel. Most of our clients experience no pain or sensitivity during or after the treatment. However, a very small percentage of clients may feel some minor tooth sensitivity, especially if he or she consumes very cold or hot foods or drinks within a few hours after the treatment. Therefore it is recommended that clients avoid consuming extremely hot or cold food or beverages for the first 24 hours following the treatment.
Will I really see a difference in my results?
Many of our customers come from their friends and family referring us, because they have had their Teeth Whitened and are beaming about the results. We see amazing results everyday and are confident you will too.
We are getting married when is best to have our teeth whitened?
We at VividBrite suggest you have your teeth whitening done before the ceremony, so all wedding related photo's will have your lovely brighter smiles in them. But if you haven't got that option then no less than 1 week before the wedding would be great.
